Committees

In January 2007, the Executive Board agreed the priorities for action for the Term 2006-2009 and approved the continuation of the FIGO Committees for the Ethical Aspects of Human Reproduction and Women's Health, Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health and Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Rights and on Gynecologic Oncology. An ew Committee on Fistula was also established. These Committees reflect a continued determination to realise FIGO's mission to promote the health and well-being of women world-wide and to improve the practice of gynecology and obstetrics.

Two formal Working Groups - the "FIGO Working on Combating Cervical cancer" and the "FIGO Working Group on The Prevention of Unsafe Abortion" - were also established follwing the FIGO Executive Board's retreat and meeting in January 2007, whilst the continuation of the Alliance for Women's Healthto promote collaboration between FIGO and other organisations was also approved.
