Bixby Fellowship Program

Through a generous grant from the Fred H. Bixby Foundation, the Population Council has created the Bixby Fellowship Program to expand opportunities for recently trained social scientists and biomedical researchers in the health and population fields.

Ten fellows have participated in the program since 2007, and applications are currently being sought for the 2010 competition.

Bixby Fellowships allow citizens of developing countries to work with experienced mentors in the Council's international network of offices. Fellows work on projects in one of three program areas: Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, and Poverty, Gender and Youth.

The deadline for applications is 15 January, 2010.  A description of the program and details about the application process are available on the Council's website at: http://www.popcouncil.org/slr/Bixby/Bixby_home.html
