FIGO is excited to announce that registration is now open for the FIGO Latin America Regional Congress – Cartagena 2022. The Congress will take place 3–5 November, hosted in collaboration with the Federación Colombiana de Obstetricia y Ginecología (FECOLSOG) and the Federación Latinoamericana de Sociedades de Obstetricia y Ginecología (FLASOG).

FIGO Cartagena 2022 will see more than 1,000 delegates gather at the Hilton Cartagena Hotel, Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, to learn, share, build alliances and move closer to achieving the scientific, health care and sustainable development goals in Latin America. The Regional Congress will bring together representatives of FIGO’s 130+ member societies, obstetrician gynaecologists, midwives, nurses, advocates, decision makers and other specialists in the field of women’s health and rights.

A world-leading event in gynaecology and obstetrics, FIGO Cartagena 2022 will enable discussion and knowledge sharing of the latest scientific breakthroughs, best practice and clinical skills in women’s health care. OBGYNs are invited to register their place before 1 July 2022 to benefit from an early bird discount. The scientific programme will include a variety of engaging session formats including plenaries, breakout sessions, hands-on workshops and breakfast meetings.

This Regional Congress fulfils our major wishes when FIGO collaborates in a scientific meeting: First, we have the very important opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with our leaders in Latin America, to hear from them about their accomplishments, their needs, and how FIGO can partner better. Second, we have the opportunity to develop a fabulous scientific programme relying on the great scientific knowledge from Latin America, in partnership with FIGO’s divisions and committees. This meeting is going to heighten the spirit of collaboration through scientific and personal exchange.

– Dr Jeanne Conry, FIGO President

Session topics will span the specialties of obstetrics, gynaecology and women’s health and rights, with a particular focus on important issues and updates pertaining to Latin America. Programming will be available in both Spanish and English. There will also be a lively evening social programme.

The Regional Congress will be a wonderful experience, in a charming city, recognised for the kindness of its inhabitants. In this magical environment, FIGO will share, through its committees, the best evidence to guarantee women's health in each of the stages of the reproductive cycle, with special emphasis on Latin America. FIGO Cartagena 2022 will be a unique opportunity to generate alliances and networks that seek to improve the lives of women and girls in Latin America, based on education, communication and advocacy.

– Dr Edgar Iván Ortiz Lizcano, FIGO Regional Trustee for Latin America

FIGO’s Latin America Regional Congress – Cartagena 2022 will enable important discussions to help shape national, regional and global policy, ultimately ensuring the physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health and wellbeing of women and girls throughout the world – now, and in the future. We look forward to welcoming you to FIGO Cartagena 2022.
