Advocacy for better practices in PPH and PE/E project
FIGO Project for Promoting Advocacy for Better Practices in Post-Partum Haemorrhage and Pre-eclampsia and Eclampsia
Duration: 2013-2014
Donor: Jhpiego Corporation
Background: Post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) is the most significant direct cause of maternal mortality in low-resource countries. Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia stand out as major causes of maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity. These conditions can be avoided through the provision of timely and effective care.
Project aims:
To scale up evidence-based high impact maternal, newborn and child health interventions. The project is now being implemented in all six selected countries - Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria and Uganda in Africa, and India and Nepal in Asia.
