Committee on Women at Reproductive Age

Limited access to high quality prenatal care, skilled birth attendants and emergency obstetric services substantially contributes  to elevated rates of maternal deaths and disease, as well as adverse birth outcomes such as low birth weight, premature births, stillbirths, neonatal deaths, and subsequent childhood malnutrition.

The primary objective of this established committee will focus on investigating and advocating for the anticipation and prevention of pregnancy-related complications, guided by evidence-based approaches. Through the implementation of research-driven strategies, we aim to develop annual plans that are not only customised to the distinct requirements of WRA but also adaptable to the ever-evolving healthcare landscape and contexts. Furthermore, the initiatives of the committee are anticipated to significantly contribute to the reduction of healthcare expenditures associated with the treatment of diseases
