We are pleased to announce the launch of FIGO’s first podcast series, which aims to disseminate clinical recommendations to obstetricians and gynaecologists to improve women and girls’ health outcomes around the globe.

Series one of the FIGO podcast is led by the FIGO Committee on Contraception, and explores adolescent pregnancy as a public health issue, available methods of contraception and their application for adolescents, and the benefits and concerns surrounding adolescent contraceptive use.

Dr Aparna Sridhar, Chair of FIGO’s Committee on Contraception, said,

FIGO’s Committee on Contraception is proud to present the first ever podcast series from FIGO! One of the committee's aims is to provide tools for our member societies to advocate for contraceptive access and promote capacity building to enhance contraceptive service delivery.

Our hope is that this will be a first of many podcasts and a way to expand the digital presence of FIGO, and to educate OBGYNs and health care providers around the globe.

In the first episode of the FIGO podcast, Dr Jeanne Conry, FIGO President, explores adolescent pregnancy as a public health issue. The episode highlights the importance of adolescent contraception and underlines the particular challenges and opportunities pertaining to adolescent contraceptive use. It also discusses how a health care consultation with an adolescent is never full without addressing sexual and reproductive health.
