Cardiovascular considerations during menopause and hormone therapy

Date: Thursday 11 September 2025
Time: 15:00-16:30 UTC
Description:
This regional expert-led webinar will explore the complex relationship between menopause, hormonal changes and cardiovascular health in women, with a special focus on Latin American contexts. As cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death in women, understanding how hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and lipid metabolism influence risk is essential for timely, evidence-based care.
Through presentations by leading specialists in gynaecology, cardiology, and endocrinology, this session will address the latest research, clinical considerations and practical approaches to prevention, risk assessment and menopause management. Topics include vascular risks such as stroke and thromboembolism, changes in lipid profiles during menopause and strategies to support shared decision-making with patients.
Join FIGO Trustee for Latin America, Dr Néstor Garello, and colleagues from the Federación Latinoamericana de Sociedades de Obstetricia y Ginecología (FLASOG) as they explore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and longitudinal care strategies to improve cardiovascular outcomes for women throughout and beyond the menopausal transition.
Language: Spanish with live interpretation in English and French.
