He has written 6 books and numerous chapters.  He is a Reviewer for International Urogynaecology Journal, ANZJOG, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.  He has been MRANZCOG examiner, Treasurer for RANZCOG, Chairman of Basic Surgical Skills Committee and member of Provincial Fellows Committee and Research Committee of the College and College Vice President.

Chair, Fistula and Genital Trauma Committee

Training of 102 surgeons in Africa and Asia with oversight of EAG group. 10,000+ surgeries performed by the group since 2012. 

ABC National news – 2 regional specialists from Townsville and Gosford make global eradication of Fistula by 2030 possible

Education and Eradication of Female Genital Mutilation Program run by FIGO brought legislation changes in Australia and Ethiopia. Set up the North Queensland FGM awareness program for midwives and doctors.

Dr Paula Rane Fistula Ward : Kasturba Gandhi Hospital, Chennai

First Fistula management ward in a government hospital – started 2004 continues to serve the poor and needy to date Trained 30 doctors in Chennai, 400 in India.Fully funded by Rane Family. Managed more than 4000 patients. Set up state of the art operating theatre and ward.

Fiji, Papua New Guinea ( Pacific Dream )

Visiting Professor Fiji National University

Set up a Pelvic Reconstructive unit in Lautoka Hospital. Regular training for local doctors and exchange students with James Cook University. Examiner and trainer for MMed program for more than 15 years in Fiji, setting up of Pacific surgeons WhatsApp group for mentoring 24/7. Trained more than 42 specialists in Fiji. Regular visiting surgeon to Port Moresby Hospital for complex pelvic floor patients. Set up the Pacific Dream program. Regular trainer and examiner for the MMEd program for UPNG.

Riwayat – The Movie

A Bollywood film to increase awareness about female foetecide and infanticide. Helped reduce the rates of this gory practice in India.

Dignity Sanitation

A project to provide covered “shelter” for toileting to prevent women from getting raped in rural areas in Telangana state – 25,000 such units prepared

Flourishing women

in 2018 we set up an ACNC registered charity with three directors and 5 members. The purpose of the charity is to have a local and global focus regarding pelvic floor disorders and childbirth. We are mainly involved in education and training globally and locally more focused on providing help out west ( Mt Isa, Longreach and its environs and Hervey Bay ).The charity was inaugurated by Professor Denis Mukwege- Nobel Peace Laureate 2018-2019 and the only gynaecologist to ever receive a Nobel Prize. It was a National first to have Denis with us. Our charity now funds the PhD of Dr Kenny Raha who is Dr Mukege’s second in command. We raised 110,000 dollars in one night.Our charity focusses on prevention and treatment of Gender Based Genital violence globally – Congo, Syria, Afghanisthan, India, Bangladesh and others.Recently also Ukraine. We have set up clinics for victims of gang rape and genital trauma since 2016. Our team has treated 56,000 plus women to date.
