Contribution to professional societies in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Initiated and participated in the development of the FIGO misoprostol guidelines, and was a member of the FIGO working group on prevention of unsafe abortion. Past Chair of the Swedish Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s (SFOGs) reference group on family planning, and member of SFOG scientific committee. Vice president of the Nordic society (NFOG) conference in 2014, past president of the European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health (ESCRH), Chair FIGO committeee on HRRVW 2018-2021, Past Chair Figo committee on Women facing crisis. 2022-2023. Editor NFOG online textbook on Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Research Group
Head of the research team at the WHO collaborating centre at KI. The research is translational (experimental, clinical trials and implementation; “from bench-to bed-to the hands of women” with focus on endometrial function, embryo implantation, induced abortion, emergency contraception and development of new contraceptive technology with direct clinical impact on obstetrics (current large trial on labor induction) as well as for gynaecological cancer treatment but especially focusing on SRH and Global Reproductive Health. The research team at the WHOcc innovated medical abortion and has contributed to the further development including Post Abortion Care as well as provision by telemedicine. Numerous PhD students and clinicians have received their training at the WHOcentre.
