Committee on the Ethical Aspects of Human Reproduction and Women’s Health

The Committee on the Ethical Aspects of Human Reproduction and Women’s Health was established in February 1985 and addresses ethical concerns in the research and practice of women’s health to support obstetricians and gynaecologists, who have an ethical duty to advocate for women’s health care worldwide.

There are currently more than 79 existing FIGO Ethics and Professionalism Guidelines in a volume last updated in 2020 by the committee, as well as a bioethical curriculum recommended for practicing gynaecologists, faculty and students.

Committee Objectives

  • Advocate for the implementation of the bioethics curriculum through training webinars.
